National Executive Economic Collective

The distance between
policy and delivery
is where we work.

NEXEC is a South African advisory and strategic development company operating at the intersection of government, business, development finance, civil society and the youth economy. We design, structure and support economic solutions that are credible, implementable and measurable.

Position

Deliberately placed between the state, capital and young people.

NEXEC was established on the understanding that economic marginalisation is not resolved through protest alone, nor through policy intent that fails to translate into delivery.

We translate institutional mandates into implementable economic interventions, and the realities of the youth economy into institutional language. That intermediary role is central to our identity and to the way we structure every engagement.

The work is grounded in institutional credibility, professional discipline and a commitment to measurable outcomes — positioning young people not as symbolic participants in the economy, but as professional actors, advisors, designers and implementers within it.

Method

A five-stage method, applied consistently.

NEXEC does not sell insight. It sells the distance between an institution's stated intent and its demonstrated delivery — closed through a method that is the same whether the client is a district municipality or a listed corporate.

Step 01

Diagnose

We establish what is actually happening before proposing what should. Diagnostic work is evidence-led, institution-specific and deliberately uncomfortable where it needs to be.

Step 02

Design

Solutions are built to fit the institution's real capability, budget and political economy — not an idealised version of it.

Step 03

Structure

We convert design into instruments: business cases, delivery models, governance arrangements, indicator sets and procurement pathways.

Step 04

Deliver

Where required we stay through implementation, embedding capability rather than substituting for it.

Step 05

Measure

Every mandate carries a measurement logic from the outset, so that impact claims can survive independent scrutiny.

Sub-Councils

Eight technical divisions. Real sectoral expertise.

Our sub-councils are staffed by economists, lawyers, engineers, quantity surveyors, clinicians and working practitioners — the technical depth behind every mandate we take.
